Etherkoi

The Etherkoi is a rare fish, found only in the far east, that has the hability to live outside of water. Sages and scholars are unable to determine what causes the fish to never require water and yet still be a "fish".

studies indicated that the etherkoi swims in the Ether streams of the world, hence it's name, feeding on the magic that flows on it. The koi swims lazily by rippling in the air in a graceful and majestic way, resembling a dance

One curious aspect of the fish is that, while not requiring food or water to live, it's quite fond of tea. Often raiding kitchens in search of tea bags for it steal and then "eat".
apparently the leaves have some sort of "spice" for the ether the koi consumes, when consuming the "spiced" ether, the fish acquires green hues instead of it's normal rainbow color.

to keep an etherkoi away (should you ever find one, i doubt you'd want to scare it off) just put some pepper inside a tea bag and leave it near an open window, the etherkoi will turn bright red and go away.

despite being rare, the koi is hunted for sport and to make jewelry, since the shining wings never loose their color or glow
